TuneCore has already paid 2 billion dollars to independent artists

TuneCore has been distributing independent artists music since 2005. In this 15 years, the platform has paid artists over 2 billion dollars.

Half of the amount has been paid in the last three years, which indicates a clear increase of the distributor activity coinciding with the boom of the music streaming. According to the stats of TuneCore, the distributor is paying now 1.2 million royalties every day.

Another interesting fact is that more than a million of independent artists have used the platform, thousands of them earning more than 100.000 dollars per year each.

The genres more distributed are: ‘Hip Hop/R’n’B/Rap’, ‘Other’ and ‘Dance/Electronic’.

The majority of royalties paid are from artists in the US, a country where TuneCore has paid 1.600 000 000 dollars. In Spain, for example, TuneCore has paid 3.4 million dollars.
