FACEBOOK LETS YOU WIN MONEY WITH ONLINE EVENTS
Facebook already announced back in April, that they were planning to allow creators to earn money from online events as everyone was heading to Instagram Live an Facebook Live to pass the time and do some activities such as exercise or cooking lessons for free. This feature is a new COVID-19 safe business source that will allow artists to charge for its content.
Even thought the initiative is already working in 20 countries (including UK, US, France, Italy, Spain and India) creators must meet Facebook’s partner monetization policies to be able to earn money from their live events.
This new tool opens a world of possibilities. Here are some examples of things that you can offer as an artist to win money through Facebook live events:
- Exclusive content: acoustic versions, covers, collaborations…
- DJ sets
- Singing lessons, instrument lessons, music production lessons…
- Talks with fans
- Shows
For now, Facebook will not charge any fee, the creator will earn the 100% of the revenue after applicable taxes at least until next year. On the other hand, Google and Apple will still charge a 30% fee of the revenue for all purchases made on apps from their mobile devices.
