More artists among the most streamed in Spotify

TOP 40 MOST LISTENED SPOTIFY ARTISTS

In Spotify, as in any other streaming platform, there is always a VIP group of TOP artists that fulfill all charts, therefore they also generate the most streams. The 90% of streams in a year are from this privileged group of artists, a group that does not stop growing and accepting new acts. According to Spotify, the top 40 most streamed artists has come to an end.

The most streamed Spotify artists list is everyday more crowded. In 2015, there was 16.000 artists in that selected group; in 2019, the number tripled: 43.000. That may mean, streaming has promoted diversity in genres and artists. The big artists have now to share their position with the middle music class that is growing very quickly.

To sum up, nowadays, streams and profits are being more and more shared between artists.
