¿Cuánto tiempo llevas en la música? / How long have you been singing?

Empecé con la batería a los 10 años y toqué unos 5 años. Entonces, a los 15 años, empecé a escuchar música electrónica cada vez más… ahora llevo pinchando y haciendo música 5 años ya. Sigo recordando cuando escuché ‘Levels’ de Avicii por primera vez, lo que definitivamente me inspiró a empezar a pinchar y hacer música yo mismo. Ahora, me inspiro sobre todo de Avicii y Kygo, a quienes probablemente podréis escuchar en mi nueva canción ‘Time to Say Goodbye’. Pero, también me gusta escuchar música clásica, por eso se me ocurrió la idea de volver a trabajar la canción de Andrea Bocelli.

I started with the drums at age 10 for almost 5 years. Then, when I was 15 I started listening to electronic music more and more… now i’ve been DJ’ing and making music for 5 years now already. I still remember when I heard «Levels» by Avicii for the first time, which definitely inspired me to start DJ-ing and making music myself. Nowadays I get most of my inspiration from Avicii and Kygo, which you probably can hear in my new song ‘Time To Say Goodbye.’ But I also do like listening to classical songs, so that’s why I came up with the idea to rework a song of Andrea Bocelli.

¿Cuál dirías que es la mejor canción para que todo el mundo conozca tu trabajo? / Which would you say is the best song to make everyone know your work?

Definitivamente, mi última canción ‘Time to Say Goodbye’. Es una revisión del clásico de Andrea Bocelli. Originalmente escuché la canción ‘Con te Partiro’ de Andre Bocelli ya que le escucho mucho, y se me ocurrió la idea de volver a trabajarlo para darle una vibra más electrónica y un tempo más animado. Directamente empecé a hacer la instrumental y una semana después estaba en el estudio con María de Suecia – antes de darnos cuenta ya habíamos grabado la parte principal y ¡la canción ya estaba hecha!

Al ser una cover, el siguiente paso (¡y el más difícil!) era conseguir la liberación del tema. Afortunadamente, a todo el mundo le gustó y encontró su casa en Spinnin’ Records. Es un gran logro para mi revisiones un clásico como este y lanzarlo con una discográfica como esta al mismo tiempo.

Definitely my latest song ’Time To Say Goodbye’. It’s a rework of Andrea Bocelli’s all time classic. I originally heard this song ‘Con te partiro’ by Andrea Bocelli as I listen to him a lot, and came up with the idea to rework it to give a more electronic, up-tempo feel. I directly started making the instrumental and a week later I was in the studio with Maria from Sweden – before long we had recorded the topline and the song was done!

Since it’s a cover, the next step (and the hardest step!) was to get the clearance for the track. Luckily everyone liked it and it found a home on Spinnin’ Records. It’s a huge achievement for me to rework such a classic and to release on a label like this at the same time.

¿Cuáles son tus planes para el futuro? / What are your plans for the future?

Mis objetivos futuros son seguir haciendo buena música que haga que la gente sea feliz y empezar a ir de gira mucho cuando la pandemia termine. Con suerte, me convertiré en un conocido DJ y pincharé en grandes festivales en los próximos años.

My future goals are to keep making good music that makes people happy, and to start touring a lot when this pandemic is over. Hopefully I’ll become well known as a DJ and I’ll be playing at some major festivals in the coming years.

¿Qué opinas de la revolución del streaming musical? / What do you think about the streaming revolution in music?

Creo que se ha hecho más fácil ser reconocido como artista ya que todo el mundo es capaz de lanzar música online. Por otro lado, esto crea mucha competencia ya que hay muchas canciones en Spotify. Pero, estoy bastante seguro de que si creas algo único, llamarás la atención de las discográficas y otros (grandes) DJs.

I think it became easier to become known as an artist since everyone is able to put their music online. On the other side, this creates a lot of competition as there are so many good songs on Spotify. But I’m pretty sure that if you create something unique, you will get noticed by labels and other (bigger) DJ’s.
