¿Cuánto tiempo llevas en la música? / How long have you been singing?
Empecé este camino con 16, muy tarde… Me regalaron una guitarra para mi cumple y me obsesioné con el instrumento. Tanto me obsesioné que los sábados por la noche me quedaba encerrado en mi habitación aprendiendo canción tras canción. Por supuesto, decidí que quería hacer esto de forma profesional y crear mi propia música. El único problema era que cuando abrí por primera vez mi boca para cantar, el sonido que sabía no era muy agradable. Desde entonces ha sido un largo camino, que me ha traído a donde estoy ahora.
I started this path with sixteen, so pretty late… I just received a guitar for my birthday and got obsessed with the instrument. So obsessed that even on Saturday nights, I was stuck in my room learning a song after the other. Of course I decided I wanted to do this professionally and to create my own music. The only problem was that when I first opened my mouth to sing the sound coming out was not very pleasant. Since then it has been a long journey, which brought me to where I am now.
¿Cuál dirías que es la mejor canción para que todo el mundo conozca tu trabajo? / Which would you say is the best song to make everyone know your work?
Dado que este es mi single debut, supongo que no hay mucho más que escuchar. Muy pronto lanzaré mi nuevo single ‘Lucid Dream’, que tengo muchas ganas de compartir. Mientras ‘Rails’ es algo fácil de entender por la gran audiencia, con mis proximas canciones empezaré a virar a una dirección más clara que podría definirse como Indie Pop profundo y oscuro.
Since this is my debut single, I guess there is not much more to listen to. Very soon I will release my next single “Lucid Dream”, which I’m really looking forward to share. While “Rails” is something easily understandable for a wide audience, with my next songs I will start to shift in a more clear direction, which might be defined as some sort of deep dark indie pop.
¿Cuáles son tus planes para el futuro? / What are your plans for the future in the artistic area?
Después de ‘Rails’ y ‘Lucid Dream’ lanzaré mi primer EP ‘First Waves’ a principios de 2019. Este EP se ha producido en un pequeño home studio, así que el siguiente paso será grabar en un estudio de verdad de forma completamente orgánica y analógica. Un proyecto ya ha comenzado y me llevará a grabar en Genova, Italia.
Además, estoy trabajando para formar mi banda para poder presentar el EP en condiciones ya que suelo actuar en solitario.
After “Rails” and “Lucid Dream” I will release my first EP “First Waves” in the first months of 2019. This EP has been produced in a small home studio, so the next step will be to record in a proper studio in a completely organic and analogue way. A project already started, which will bring me eventually to do some great recording sessions in Genoa, Italy. Moreover I am working on bringing a band together in order to be able to present the EP properly, since I usually perform as a solo act.
¿Qué te gusta hacer cuando no estás haciendo música? / What do you like to do when you are not doing music?
Me encanta pasar tiempo en el mar y el sol, esas son mis raíces. Vivir en Berlin no es tan fácil para alguien acostumbrado a pasar los días en la playa, así que intento volver a mi entorno natural tanto como puedo. Por otro lado, me encanta leer Kerouac y ver películas que no están creadas como un contenido más sino con un mensaje significativo detrás.
I love to spend time at the sea and in the sun, these are my roots. Living in Berlin is not so easy for someone used to spend days at the beach, so I try to go back to my natural environment as much as possible. Otherwise I love to read Kerouac and watch movies, that were not created as mere content, but with a meaningful message behind that.
¿Qué opinas de la revolución del streaming musical? / What do you think about the streaming revolution in music?
Por supuesto me encanta el hecho de que la música sea tan fácil de acceso. Sin embargo, por otro lado, creo que hay mucho contenido que está ahí solo para entretener. Esto lleva a la gente a no prestar la atención necesaria y tener la música de fondo en sus vidas la mayoría del tiempo.
Sería muy bonito de vez en cuando que fuera más difícil acceder a una pieza de arte… como cuando tenías que conseguir un vinilo para escuchar la música que deseabas oír. Ese pequeño esfuerzo resultaba en una escucha y consumición atentas del producto. Estoy seguro de que eso llevaría a una mayor calidad en la música…
Of course I love the fact, that music is so easily accessible. However, on the other hand, there is too much content, that is just there to entertain. This leads to people not paying the right attention to it, but to have music as a mere background of their life most of the time.
It would be nice every now and then to have to struggle more in order to access to a piece of art…like when you had to get a vinyl in order to listen to the music you were longing for. That small struggle was resulting in a cautious listening and consuming of the product.
I’m sure this would lead to a higher quality in music…
