¿Cuánto tiempo hace que haces música?/ How long have you been making music?
Llevo cantando desde que salí de la tripa de mi madre, pero profesionalmente desde los 7 años. Entrené profesionalmente, fui de gira por Europa… He escrito desde siempre y me ha costado mucho perseguir la música de forma profesional. Escribo y produzco todo mi material, pero tengo muchísima ayuda de mi productor Gravin Bradley en cuanto a giros de letras y arreglos musicales.
I’ve been singing since I jumped out of my mother’s womb, but professionally since age 7. Trained professionally, toured Europe. I’ve been writing forever, and it’s taken this long for me to finally pursue music professionally. I write and produce all my own stuff, but I have massive help from my producer Gavin Bradley in terms of lyric tweaks and musical arrangement additions.
¿Cuál dirías que es la mejor canción para que todo el mundo conozca tu trabajo? / Which would you say is the best song to make everyone know your work?
Creo que mi mejor canción es ‘I Woudn’t Want Me Either’, salió el 10 de Abril. Conocí a un chico en una playa este pasado verano y creí que estaba colado por mi pero al final no lo estaba y IWWME nació. La canción está llena de influencias de Pet Shop Boys que realmente te hacen querer bailar.
I actually think my best song is called “I Wouldn’t Want Me Either”, and it dropped on April 10th. I met a guy on the beach earlier this summer and thought he was so into me, as it turns out, he wasn’t, and IWWME was born. The song is filled with Pet Shop Boys influences and really makes you want to dance!

Llevo escribiendo la mayoría de mi vida, así que no veo que eso vaya a parar. Ahora mismo estoy trabajando en un LP y tengo que decir, hay una canción que se llama ‘Boyfriend Material’, que va a volveros locos! ¿Qué modesto, eh? Solo espero que pueda continuar creando porque me hace feliz. Todo lo demás es un extra.
I’ve been writing for the majority of my life, so I don’t see that stopping. Right now I’m working on a full length album and I have to say — there’s a song called “Boyfriend Material” that is going to blow your mind! How humble am I? I just hope I can continue to create, because it makes me happy. Anything else is a bonus.
¿Qué te gusta hacer cuando no estás haciendo música? / What do you like to do when you are not doing music?
Sé que se supone que tengo que decir entrenar, pasar tiempo con mi familia, etc. Pero realmente, lo que más me gusta es ver un episodio de Mujeres reales de Nueva York o beber algo de vino y escribir una canción. He aprendido después de estar soltero mucho tiempo a divertirme solo, y siempre puedo contar con esas dos cosas para hacerme feliz.
I know I’m supposed to say working out, spending time with friends, etc. But really, what I love the most is watching an episode of Real Housewives of NYC or drinking some wine and writing a song. I’ve really learned after being single for so long to entertain myself, and I can always count on those two things to bring me happiness.
¿Qué opinas de la revolución del streaming musical? / What do you think about the streaming revolution in music?
Es una espada de doble filo. A los artistas no se les compensa lo suficiente. Si supieras cuantas sesiones y cuanto tiempo se necesita para hacer una sola canción, te quedarías en shock. Esto dicho, me encanta el proceso de pasar tiempo en el estudio, es mi cosa favorita.Puedo escribir una canción en 10 minutos, pero producir y masterizarla cuesta HORAS. La realidad es que esto no es un negocio para aquellos que no amen la música. Es una industria para la gente que come, respira y duerme música (sí, me he despertado de un sueño a media noche y he escrito una canción). Estoy pellizcándome a mi mismo de saber que ahora soy parte de la fiesta.
It’s a double edged sword. Artists don’t get compensated enough. If you knew how many sessions and how much time it takes to make just one song, you’d be shocked. That said, I love the process and spending time in the studio is my absolute favourite thing to do. I can write a song in 10 minutes, but producing and mastering it takes HOURS. The reality is, this is not a business for people who don’t love music. This is an industry for people who eat, breathe and sleep music (yes, I’ve woken from a dream in the middle of the night and written a song). I’m just pinching myself knowing that I’m now part of the party.
